Christmas Shopping: Toys : Robosapien V2

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Disappointed from Devon
what a disapointment this is. from the hype and the sales descriptions i'd expected much - kind of like a little guy wandering around the home responding to controls and interacting with his environment.

In reality it cannot walk far or fast or even cope with a change in the thickness of the carpet, the batteries run down really quickly, so that it cannot walk at all after a matter of minutes and the hand movements are broken after only a couple of hours play time.

In a way it is interesting as an art object illustrating how poor robotic toys still are and what a way they have to go yet to fulfill the hopes we may have of them. i'm glad i bought it as a bit of fun for my middle aged self rather than as a present for one of the children as they could only have had a significant disappointment.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Don't Buy
The V2 is a piece of junk. Very disappointed, it is clumsy in its actions, keeps falling over and fails to recognise colours on most tries. Check out the forums for a full run down on the issues.

This looks like a rush job without being fully tested for bugs.

Spend your hard earned cash on something else.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Excellent Amusement
Excellent.

Didn't use the first version, but well impressed with this little guy.

He's only out of the box about 3 hours and well worth it so far. It would be worth it for the burp alone! Have to learn how to programme his features still.

Durability is a key question given the high price. I wouldn't like to check him out falling off a table. Battery life may also be an issue.

Remember he needs 6 D batteries and 7 AAA batteries and they all go in his feet.

Warning to parents:
Santa may deliver him but he takes alot of time to liberate from the secure ties in the box - will need at least an hour to set up because of this.
